Old WW 123 Success Program Menu and Today's Bible Verse

Hope all had a nice Christmas.  We certainly did but have a few leftovers.  We gave what we could away and hubby took some to the senior center here in town - caramel corn and cookies.  Some that I will eat, I portioned out and put in the freezer so can get out my serving.  Hubby came home for lunch and helped out with the leftovers, too.  Also have homemade rolls that I put in the freezer and homemade apple pie that I have wrapped individually for hubby to get him out a serving.  As I am not too much on sweets, I won't be tempted with that.  I have a lot of hash brown casserole that I still need to freeze.

Today's menu:

veggie chicken patty

1/2 cup green bean casserole

asparagus

1/2 cup layered salad

cottage cheese

blueberries

yogurt

probably soup this evening.

Today's Bible Verse:

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

God is not about condemnation. I know that Satan got that rumor started a long time ago, but please don't believe his lies! God is not some cruel teacher looking to flunk his students because they fail. God is not some cantankerous judge looking to shame, humiliate, and punish all who appear before him. God is not some gossip spreading rumors about our shortcomings across the neighborhoods of heaven. The one true and living God wants to bless us with his salvation. He wants to dispense his mercy and grace among us and on us generously. He wants us to be his beloved children. However, God is also holy, righteous, majestic, and just. So when God's gracious desires for us collide with his call for righteous character to be found in us, there is only one solution. Jesus came to fulfill God's righteous demands with his gracious provision of mercy. God sent Jesus to save sinners like us. Jesus came to save people from all nations, races, and cultures from sin and the penalty of sin. Jesus came to save us, not condemn us!

My Prayer...

I praise you, O God, for your desire to save me. I thank you for demanding holiness from me. I thank you for calling me to righteousness so that my life will be a blessing to others and not a burden. I thank you for challenging me to have your holy character so that others can see your glory in my good deeds. So please use me, Father. I know I am flawed, but I want to be one of your tools, letting the lost know about your mercy and grace in Jesus. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Today's WW 123 Success Old Program Menu & Today's Bible Verse

This was kinda "clean out the refrig day" so I had a wide variety of foods.  Had company over the weekend and enjoyed my food, so back on track today.  I did lots of cooking - homemade rolls, cheese ball, apple pie, cookies and peanut butter fudge.  They are all of the house right now, so will start in cooking for Christmas in a few days.  Still have plenty of rolls, so won't need to make any more of those as well as cookies and candy.

Today's menu:

coffee with protein shake

fish

asparagus

coleslaw

plant based cream cheese stuffed mushrooms

homemade catsup

yogurt

pineapple

Today's Bible Verse:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age...

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Jesus has come for our rescue! Why? Because he knows the times in which we live aren't easy. He knows that the world in which we live is caught up in wickedness. He knows our world is broken and in decay. These, however, are not the only realities we face in our world. Jesus gave us overwhelming victory over sin, death, demons, and hell through his cross (Colossians 2:12-15). Now, we can greet each day and each other with grace and face the future with confident peace, knowing our Lord is near and our rescue is assured (Philippians 4:5James 5:8Luke 21:28).

My Prayer...

Father, please help me distinguish between good and evil as I seek to live for you daily. Make evil repulsive to me despite the many ways that Satan tries to make it look attractive and seductive. Thank you, Jesus, for coming to my rescue when I was a sinner and unable to save myself. Thank you for sharing your grace and giving me peace. Thank you for returning to take me with you to share in your glory. Through the intercession of the blessed Holy Spirit, I offer my thanks and praise. Amen.

Today's Old WW 123 Success Program Menu & Bible Verse

Was in my kitchen cooking most of the day today.  Trying to get started on things for Christmas - party, family dinner and church.  Made peanut butter fudge balls, 2 apple pies, cheese ball, and hot rolls.  I plan on staying out of those :)

Today's Menu:

coffee with protein shake

chicken patty rollup with chicken patty, lettuce, bacon

celery

mushrooms stuffed with plant based seasoned cream cheese in the air fryer

soup

Today's Bible Verse:

[Jesus] had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

There are very few things the Bible says Jesus "had" to do. Becoming like us is a key he had to do things! Jesus had to be one of us, one with us, and one like us. Notice that Jesus did this so he could be like us in every way. Why is that important? So he could be the perfect and faithful high priest who not only made atonement for our sins, but he could also be someone we could fully trust because we know he understands our struggle with our sinful world. And now that we know this, we can trust Jesus to intercede for us! We can have complete confidence that he knows our struggles with mortality — not just because he is God and knows all things but because he also has been through life in our mortal world with all of its challenges, pains, difficulties, temptations, and hardships and personally experienced them in human flesh (Hebrews 2:14-184:14-16).

My Prayer...

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your incredible sacrifice so I could be adopted into our Father's family and become your younger sibling in your eternal family. Thank you for this grace motivated by your love for us and accomplished through your faithfulness to the Father. Through the authority of your name, Lord Jesus, I offer my praise and thanks to you and trust in you. Amen.

Today's WW 123 Success Menu and Bible Verse

 Today's menu:

Leftover Chinese orange chicken on a bed of rice

asparagus

blueberries

yogurt

green beans

homemade cherry turnover made with sugar free cherry pie filling and flour tortilla

Today's Bible Verse:

When you are harvesting in your field and you overlook a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the alien, the fatherless and the widow, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Apparently, this is a passage Scrooge hadn't seen! Unfortunately, I fear this is also a passage many of the Father's children haven't taken very seriously. God set aside ways for his people to help the poor, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow. So, at this time of the year when many of us are more aware that we need to help those less fortunate, let's also open our date books, diaries, and schedulers, then find a date next year to dedicate ourselves to generosity in a special way. Let's also ask the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with appreciation for God's generous gifts to us and commit to a life of generosity all year long. God wants generosity to be our lifestyle — our "Christyle" — always.

My Prayer...

I thank you for all your wonderful gifts of kindness and grace, dear Father and God. Please stir my heart to care for others as you do. Please help me keep that spirit of concern and generosity alive all year long and not just around Christmas time. In Jesus' name, I ask this. Amen.

My WW 123 Success Menu, Christmas Bedroom Tree and Today's Bible Verse

I was away from 7:30 until 5:00 yesterday, so my meals weren't planned so I stopped by the the deli and got me a Chinese meal and sat in my recliner and really enjoyed it after I got home.  I couldn't eat all of it so froze the rest. Of course, not the healthiest choice, but I enjoyed it anyway.  :)

coffee with protein shake

Chinese meal

yogurt

Today I am planning a little better:

coffee with protein shake

imitation crab meat made with a homemade gravy ( I have been making this for years and it is so good)

Put the gravy and crab meat on a flour tortilla.

lettuce salad

fresh pineapple probably made into a protein shake

yogurt

My bedroom Christmas tree.  I got out a vintage tree this year and am really enjoying it.  It's not the prettiest, but I like it.

Today's Bible Verse:

Do not hide your face from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in trouble. Come near and rescue me; redeem me because of my foes.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Jesus came to show God's heart to us and to rescue us from our enemies. But today, in hostile parts of the world, as well as in the places many would least expect it, Christians are under daily attack. God sent Jesus not only to save us ultimately and totally from sin and its power but also to deliver us from the daily attacks from the evil one, our hostile cultures, and our battle with our fleshly desires. Let's pray that our loving God will work mightily in our world today to deliver his children from the clutches of tyranny, poverty, violence, abuse, and ridicule. Let's also pray that we recognize God rescuing and redeeming his children and praise him for his deliverance!

My Prayer...

Holy and righteous Father, please strengthen all your beloved children who find themselves under attack. Make your deliverance of them known and shown in the display of your mighty power. You are our Redeemer and Savior. In the name of your Son, Jesus, we pray:

Today's WW 123 Success Program Plan, Sunset , Today's Bible Verse and making Homemade Rolls

Another nice wintery day here in the Midwest.  Lots of sunshine so can't complain.  Been making rolls for a gospel show Sunday and am still baking them.  They smell soooo good.

This evening sunset from my front porch.  Picture is not nearly as pretty and red as it was.

  Today's menu:

Veggie chicken patty

plant based cream cheese stuffed mushrooms

light bread

crustless pumpkin pie

cottage cheese

yogurt

Today's Bible Verse:

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Are you walking in light, or are you stumbling around in darkness? Can you see your path, or are you disoriented along an uncertain path? Jesus wants us to follow him boldly. The way may not always be easy, but the destination is assured. Most of all, you won't ever have to have a night light — you're assured that even in the deepest darkness, you will have Jesus as your Light, the only Light that gives life.

My Prayer...

Wonderful and tender Shepherd, please give me a faithful heart. Even in my deepest moments of darkness and despair, I want to be able to find you as my Light and to share your life with others. In the name of the One who is never darkness, Jesus, the Light of the world, I pray. Amen.

This is my big tree in my living room.  I will try to take a better picture of my silver one in my dining room and get it posted.  It is so shiny that I can't get a very good one.
