Another winter day here in the Midwest.  We are expecting more snow tonight.  The trees were so pretty yesterday morning with all of the snow and frost on them. 

This picture is from my back deck near my bird feeder.  Have had several cardinals, blue jays, and nuthatches.  Really enjoy watching them.  

  In this verse Jesus tells his followers not to be anxious about food, but to rely on God as the birds, who are worth far less than people, are fully provided for. Illustration of Matthew 6:26: the believer looks at the birds in the sky, that do not reap nor gather into the barns, and trust that the Father will provide.

Foggy Soupy Morning Here in the Midwest and Today's Bible Verse

 Another foggy dreary morning here in the Midwest.  We are under a winter storm warning from noon today until in the morning.  Temps are in lower 30's so fog may freeze on the roads before we get the snow on top.  I know we haven't had a bad winter compared to what it could have been; but, I am so ready for Spring.

Today, I plan on maybe making some bread and a new chicken recipe that I have been wanting to try.  Will post how that turned out :)

I will probably try to get more vintage feedsack fabrics listed in my Etsy Shop.  Two days ago, I listed a bundle of junk journal items including barkcloth, feedsack, ribbons, crochet, buttons etc.   Hope to do more of these bundles as they are so  much fun to make.

Today's Bible Verse

 Nice cold January day with sunshine here in the Midwest.  We are supposed to get some freezing rain and a little snow late tonight and tomorrow.  It has been a pretty good winter, so far.  

I hope to get back to listing more things in my Etsy Shop.  This week has pretty much been devoted to cleaning out my supplies and trying to get them organized.  I need to downsize bigtime, but not getting along too well doing that.

Been so busy the last few days trying to get my craft and project stuff organized.  Went and got me more totes.  Hopefully, I will be able to find everything, but it looks a lot better.  Found some Valentine Pillows that I made and plan on listing in my Etsy Shop   maybe tomorrow if I get all other things done.

Today's Calorie Counting Menu

 Have been away from calorie counting since before Christmas, so am getting back to it today.  I have around 10# that I would like to lose before Spring; but, if I don't that is okay as long as I am eating fairly well and getting to eat the things that I want.

Since I need to watch both cholesterol and blood sugar without meds, some days my menu isn't perfect but overall, I do the best I can.

Today's Menu:

Morningstar chik pattie with bun and veggie  cheese

Broccoli and onions with yogurt dip

air fried squash

5 olives

Greek yogurt

Protein powder

1 c blueberries

Prayer for the New Year

 God,

You are the light of the world.

Because of You, I no longer walk in darkness but in Your light. May my life reflect Your truth, pointing others to You and bringing glory to Your name.

Give me the strength and courage to share the hope that I have in You.

This world is broken, but You make what’s broken whole again.

This year, draw near to the lost, the lonely, and the hurting. And, please draw near to me.

May Your love bring us together, mending division and unifying Your global Church.

No matter what this year holds, You are faithful and Your promises are true.

Thank You for the eternal hope that I have in You.
