Old WW 123 Success Program Menu and Today's Bible Verse

Hope all had a nice Christmas.  We certainly did but have a few leftovers.  We gave what we could away and hubby took some to the senior center here in town - caramel corn and cookies.  Some that I will eat, I portioned out and put in the freezer so can get out my serving.  Hubby came home for lunch and helped out with the leftovers, too.  Also have homemade rolls that I put in the freezer and homemade apple pie that I have wrapped individually for hubby to get him out a serving.  As I am not too much on sweets, I won't be tempted with that.  I have a lot of hash brown casserole that I still need to freeze.

Today's menu:

veggie chicken patty

1/2 cup green bean casserole

asparagus

1/2 cup layered salad

cottage cheese

blueberries

yogurt

probably soup this evening.

Today's Bible Verse:

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

God is not about condemnation. I know that Satan got that rumor started a long time ago, but please don't believe his lies! God is not some cruel teacher looking to flunk his students because they fail. God is not some cantankerous judge looking to shame, humiliate, and punish all who appear before him. God is not some gossip spreading rumors about our shortcomings across the neighborhoods of heaven. The one true and living God wants to bless us with his salvation. He wants to dispense his mercy and grace among us and on us generously. He wants us to be his beloved children. However, God is also holy, righteous, majestic, and just. So when God's gracious desires for us collide with his call for righteous character to be found in us, there is only one solution. Jesus came to fulfill God's righteous demands with his gracious provision of mercy. God sent Jesus to save sinners like us. Jesus came to save people from all nations, races, and cultures from sin and the penalty of sin. Jesus came to save us, not condemn us!

My Prayer...

I praise you, O God, for your desire to save me. I thank you for demanding holiness from me. I thank you for calling me to righteousness so that my life will be a blessing to others and not a burden. I thank you for challenging me to have your holy character so that others can see your glory in my good deeds. So please use me, Father. I know I am flawed, but I want to be one of your tools, letting the lost know about your mercy and grace in Jesus. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Today's WW 123 Success Old Program Menu & Today's Bible Verse

This was kinda "clean out the refrig day" so I had a wide variety of foods.  Had company over the weekend and enjoyed my food, so back on track today.  I did lots of cooking - homemade rolls, cheese ball, apple pie, cookies and peanut butter fudge.  They are all of the house right now, so will start in cooking for Christmas in a few days.  Still have plenty of rolls, so won't need to make any more of those as well as cookies and candy.

Today's menu:

coffee with protein shake

fish

asparagus

coleslaw

plant based cream cheese stuffed mushrooms

homemade catsup

yogurt

pineapple

Today's Bible Verse:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age...

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Jesus has come for our rescue! Why? Because he knows the times in which we live aren't easy. He knows that the world in which we live is caught up in wickedness. He knows our world is broken and in decay. These, however, are not the only realities we face in our world. Jesus gave us overwhelming victory over sin, death, demons, and hell through his cross (Colossians 2:12-15). Now, we can greet each day and each other with grace and face the future with confident peace, knowing our Lord is near and our rescue is assured (Philippians 4:5James 5:8Luke 21:28).

My Prayer...

Father, please help me distinguish between good and evil as I seek to live for you daily. Make evil repulsive to me despite the many ways that Satan tries to make it look attractive and seductive. Thank you, Jesus, for coming to my rescue when I was a sinner and unable to save myself. Thank you for sharing your grace and giving me peace. Thank you for returning to take me with you to share in your glory. Through the intercession of the blessed Holy Spirit, I offer my thanks and praise. Amen.

Today's Old WW 123 Success Program Menu & Bible Verse

Was in my kitchen cooking most of the day today.  Trying to get started on things for Christmas - party, family dinner and church.  Made peanut butter fudge balls, 2 apple pies, cheese ball, and hot rolls.  I plan on staying out of those :)

Today's Menu:

coffee with protein shake

chicken patty rollup with chicken patty, lettuce, bacon

celery

mushrooms stuffed with plant based seasoned cream cheese in the air fryer

soup

Today's Bible Verse:

[Jesus] had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

There are very few things the Bible says Jesus "had" to do. Becoming like us is a key he had to do things! Jesus had to be one of us, one with us, and one like us. Notice that Jesus did this so he could be like us in every way. Why is that important? So he could be the perfect and faithful high priest who not only made atonement for our sins, but he could also be someone we could fully trust because we know he understands our struggle with our sinful world. And now that we know this, we can trust Jesus to intercede for us! We can have complete confidence that he knows our struggles with mortality — not just because he is God and knows all things but because he also has been through life in our mortal world with all of its challenges, pains, difficulties, temptations, and hardships and personally experienced them in human flesh (Hebrews 2:14-184:14-16).

My Prayer...

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your incredible sacrifice so I could be adopted into our Father's family and become your younger sibling in your eternal family. Thank you for this grace motivated by your love for us and accomplished through your faithfulness to the Father. Through the authority of your name, Lord Jesus, I offer my praise and thanks to you and trust in you. Amen.

Today's WW 123 Success Menu and Bible Verse

 Today's menu:

Leftover Chinese orange chicken on a bed of rice

asparagus

blueberries

yogurt

green beans

homemade cherry turnover made with sugar free cherry pie filling and flour tortilla

Today's Bible Verse:

When you are harvesting in your field and you overlook a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the alien, the fatherless and the widow, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Apparently, this is a passage Scrooge hadn't seen! Unfortunately, I fear this is also a passage many of the Father's children haven't taken very seriously. God set aside ways for his people to help the poor, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow. So, at this time of the year when many of us are more aware that we need to help those less fortunate, let's also open our date books, diaries, and schedulers, then find a date next year to dedicate ourselves to generosity in a special way. Let's also ask the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with appreciation for God's generous gifts to us and commit to a life of generosity all year long. God wants generosity to be our lifestyle — our "Christyle" — always.

My Prayer...

I thank you for all your wonderful gifts of kindness and grace, dear Father and God. Please stir my heart to care for others as you do. Please help me keep that spirit of concern and generosity alive all year long and not just around Christmas time. In Jesus' name, I ask this. Amen.

My WW 123 Success Menu, Christmas Bedroom Tree and Today's Bible Verse

I was away from 7:30 until 5:00 yesterday, so my meals weren't planned so I stopped by the the deli and got me a Chinese meal and sat in my recliner and really enjoyed it after I got home.  I couldn't eat all of it so froze the rest. Of course, not the healthiest choice, but I enjoyed it anyway.  :)

coffee with protein shake

Chinese meal

yogurt

Today I am planning a little better:

coffee with protein shake

imitation crab meat made with a homemade gravy ( I have been making this for years and it is so good)

Put the gravy and crab meat on a flour tortilla.

lettuce salad

fresh pineapple probably made into a protein shake

yogurt

My bedroom Christmas tree.  I got out a vintage tree this year and am really enjoying it.  It's not the prettiest, but I like it.

Today's Bible Verse:

Do not hide your face from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in trouble. Come near and rescue me; redeem me because of my foes.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Jesus came to show God's heart to us and to rescue us from our enemies. But today, in hostile parts of the world, as well as in the places many would least expect it, Christians are under daily attack. God sent Jesus not only to save us ultimately and totally from sin and its power but also to deliver us from the daily attacks from the evil one, our hostile cultures, and our battle with our fleshly desires. Let's pray that our loving God will work mightily in our world today to deliver his children from the clutches of tyranny, poverty, violence, abuse, and ridicule. Let's also pray that we recognize God rescuing and redeeming his children and praise him for his deliverance!

My Prayer...

Holy and righteous Father, please strengthen all your beloved children who find themselves under attack. Make your deliverance of them known and shown in the display of your mighty power. You are our Redeemer and Savior. In the name of your Son, Jesus, we pray:

Today's WW 123 Success Program Plan, Sunset , Today's Bible Verse and making Homemade Rolls

Another nice wintery day here in the Midwest.  Lots of sunshine so can't complain.  Been making rolls for a gospel show Sunday and am still baking them.  They smell soooo good.

This evening sunset from my front porch.  Picture is not nearly as pretty and red as it was.

  Today's menu:

Veggie chicken patty

plant based cream cheese stuffed mushrooms

light bread

crustless pumpkin pie

cottage cheese

yogurt

Today's Bible Verse:

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Are you walking in light, or are you stumbling around in darkness? Can you see your path, or are you disoriented along an uncertain path? Jesus wants us to follow him boldly. The way may not always be easy, but the destination is assured. Most of all, you won't ever have to have a night light — you're assured that even in the deepest darkness, you will have Jesus as your Light, the only Light that gives life.

My Prayer...

Wonderful and tender Shepherd, please give me a faithful heart. Even in my deepest moments of darkness and despair, I want to be able to find you as my Light and to share your life with others. In the name of the One who is never darkness, Jesus, the Light of the world, I pray. Amen.

Christmas Tree Pix

This is my big tree in my living room.  I will try to take a better picture of my silver one in my dining room and get it posted.  It is so shiny that I can't get a very good one.

Today's WW 123 Success Old Plan Menu and Bible Verse and my Thrift Store Finds

Hit the jackpot at my local thrift store today - nice large throw and mini waffle maker.  Thought the waffle maker would be great to make me some sandwich bread.  Last week when I went, I got a hand quilted quilt that belonged to a friend of ours.  He had recently passed away and, I guess,  his family didn't want it.  I was so excited to get it.

Today's menu:

veggie patty

plant based cream cheese stuffed aid fried mushrooms

lt mini sandwich bun

plant based cheese

yogurt

pineapple

sf cherry pie filling

cottage cheese

Today's Bible Verse:

I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

When was the last time you sang praises to God outside a church building or devotional service with other believers? Why not open up the Psalms and find several verses that reflect your personal praise and thanks to God? Then, give them a tune — your own tune! God doesn't care if your spiritual gift is music or singing; he's just listening for your heart to be joyful as you share your praise and thanksgiving with him. Let's join in saying and doing what our verse for today commands: "I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving."

My Prayer...

O gracious Father, giver of every good and perfect gift, forgive me for relegating my thanksgiving and praise to special days and special places. I praise you for creating your human children with the capacity to celebrate goodness, to rejoice in your creation, and to have the capacity for praise and thanksgiving. Thank you for making our world so full of reasons to offer thanks to you, our Abba Father and Creator. As you continually fill me with your Spirit, may my heart overflow with songs of praise and words of thanksgiving. To your glory, in Jesus' holy name, I pray and praise you. Amen.

Today's old Weight Watchers 123 Success Program Menu and Bible Verse

Been busy getting up my Christmas lights inside and outside.  Still have more to do.  Hopefully, get some pictures soon.

Still on the old WW plan and loving it.  Here is today's menu:

Coffee with part of a protein shake

veggie chicken patty cooked in air fryer

skinny flatbread

green beans

plant based cream cheese stuffed mushrooms in air fryer

plain yogurt with sf jello

plant based soup

cottage cheese

flavored yogurt - fat free 50 cal.

Today's Bible Verse:

For this is what the high and exalted One says — he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.”

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

As many of us leave our season of Thanksgiving and transition into the season of Advent, we remember our most significant reason for giving thanks: Jesus' coming as God's incarnation in human flesh. After all, Advent means "the coming," and in particular, the coming of God to earth in Jesus. God loved us so much that he refused to be God far from us, dwelling only in a high and holy place. He chose to come near us and be one of us in Jesus. God is holy and beyond us (Isaiah 6:1-6). Yet, he became one of us in Jesus because of his mercy and grace (Isaiah 57:15). In Jesus, God surrendered his divine privileges and humbled himself so we could see both God's grace and our path to him in his greatness as a servant (Philippians 2:5-11).

My Prayer...

Loving Father, thank you for loving us so much that you joined us in our mortality through Jesus. Thank you, Jesus, for living among us and showing us what God-like living is. Thank you for knowing our struggle with living in human flesh in a broken world. Thank you for defeating death and giving us life with you forever. Because of Jesus, Father, we will forever want you to know our thanks and praise! Amen.

Back on Track with WW 123 Success Program after Thanksgiving

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family, but back on track today.  Menu:

Coffee with a  little almond milk and sf caramel syrup

Air fried Sweet potato

air fried pineapple

cottage cheese

feta cheese

yogurt

protein shake with 1 cup almond milk

Today's Bible Verse:

Be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

God is awesome and mighty. He can do anything he chooses to do. So isn't it amazing that of all the things he could do, God chooses to love and bless us? God blesses us with material blessings. He blesses us with spiritual things. He blesses us with big things and small things and things in between. He blesses us with hope. He blesses us beyond pain. He blesses us now and in the future. He blesses us and works things out for our best eternal outcome (Romans 8:28). So we honor him with our reverent respect — not a cowering fear but a loving awe and delight — remembering all the great things he has done.

My Prayer...

Generous and gracious God, thank you for blessing me in so many ways I can't count them all. Please use my life to be a blessing to others that leads them to a life blessed with you. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Leaves on my Pretty Tree are Falling Fast

This tree in my back yard has been so pretty this year, but leaves are falling fast.

Today's Old WW 123 Success Program and Bible Verse

Still pretty much eating on this plan and still loving it.  Weight stays about the same, sometimes fluctuating up or down 2#.   That is to be expected with me.  Last night, I ate cottage cheese and that usually makes me gain, but didn't this time.  Went to see my doctor yesterday and my LDL cholesterol is down just where he wants it be so this way of eating working for me in that respect, too.

I am about 4# away from goal, so I am going to enjoy Thanksgiving trying not to go too overboard.  I will eat what I want, but not stuffed like I have in years past.  :)  Don't have to cook much, so will not have leftovers.

Here is today's menu:

Coffee with protein powder

veggie chicken patty

flour tortilla

plant based cheese melted on patty

mushrooms stuffed with plant based cream cheese in air fryer

air fried pineapple (yummy)

yogurt

Today's Bible Verse:

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

Getting Back to WW 123 Success Program Tomorrow

Been off my program WW 123 Success Program for a few days - I guess I was taking a break.  Seem like I have to do that some; but tomorrow is a good time to get back on.  Weather has turned so cold, that i think I need to make some very low point soup.

Cooked chicken today so have a lot of that to eat - maybe to put in my soup.

Will be posting tomorrow's menu.

Today's Bible Verse:

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

- Philippians 3:14

Today's Old WW 123 Success Program Menu and my Branson Bush and Bible Verse

We have been having nice weather here in the Midwest, but is going to change and get cold starting tomorrow.  I have most of my mums planted, but still have three more to go.  It is raining today, so probably won't get those done .   We have to cover our "Branson Bush" as we call it.  Years ago we got a Crepe Myrtle Bush in Branson Mo and since we are in the wrong zone for those, we have to put it to bed for winter.  We use insulation with sacks over that and then finish up putting a large tub over it.  This has been several years ago;  so far, it has come up in the Spring.

Today's Menu:

Veggie chicken patty

bun

Assorted air fried veggies - turnips, mushrooms, and peppers dipped in homemade sugar free catsup

Homemade blackberry ice cream protein powder and blackberries that we picked this summer.

homemade cherry tart

I was really hungry today, but am stuffed right now.

Bible verse for today:

Your statutes stand firm; holiness adorns your house for endless days, O Lord.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

So many of the material things we pursue are temporary. Their usefulness lasts only months, or at most, only a few short years. Even our lives, and the lives of those we love, are short. The defining quality of God's character, holiness,* is forever — "for endless days." So as we build our lives, let's construct them on a secure foundation, the will of God and a commitment to share in his holiness by living to honor him.

* As the seraphim in Isaiah's vision cried out, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty...!" (Isaiah 6:1-4).

My Prayer...

Holy God, thank you for making me holy and forgiving my sin by your grace (Romans 5:6-11Colossians 1:22-23). Please fill me with your Spirit and bring forth the Spirit's fruit in my life so that I reflect your grace and holy character. Please give me a hunger to know your will as I seek your truth and apply it to my life. I want to build my life with you at its center, with your holiness as my goal. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Today's WW 123 Success Program Menu

 Today's menu:

veggie patty

air fried mushrooms and peppers stuffed with veggie cream cheese

homemade tomato sauce

cucumbers with homemade yogurt dip

yogurt with fruit

protein shake

Today's Bible Verse:

Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Life can be so confusing. We have many choices as we decide the values governing our lives. So how will we find the best way — and much more importantly, God's way — to live? We ask God to show us! Our hope is in him. Our salvation is in him. So why not ask him to guide us and teach us his truth? Why not expect that he will make his will known to us? If our hearts are open to his truth and we seek his path, he will make his will known. So, as we seek the answers to our questions, and as we seek to know God's truth from the Scriptures, let's invite God to help us:

Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

My Prayer...

O mighty God, the only accurate guide to life, please help me know your will more completely. I want to live for you and to please you. I want others to know of my allegiance to you — not just through the words I speak but also through the character of my conduct. I want my life to demonstrate that you are guiding me, and my hope is in you! In Jesus' name, I ask this. Amen.

Down 2# with WW 123 Success Plan - 3# from Goal and Bible Verse for Today

I am so thrilled that the WW 123 Success Plan is still working for me.  I am just 3# away from my goal.  This is definitely the plan for me and one that I can stick with and enjoy a variety.  Too restrictive is just for me.

Today may be a day when I do not count - I guess you would call it a "cheat day".  I didn't used to have these when I was so far away from my goal; but now I do and then get right on track on Monday.  It seems to work for me.  I don't go too overboard on carbs, but enjoy what I want.

Today's Bible Verse:

In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

In baptism, we are united with Christ in his death (see Romans 6:1-14 for the background of this devotional meditation). Our old sinful selves are crucified with Christ. We are no longer slaves to sin. We are freed from sin, death, and evil powers that could separate us from God (Colossians 2:12-151:13-14). We are alive in Christ — the one whom sin could not master and death could not conquer. His life is now our life. His victory is our victory. His future is our future (Colossians 3:1-4). Let's set our hearts to live based on this certainty, realizing that we are dead to our past failures and sins and now alive to Jesus' future for us!

My Prayer...

Gracious Father, I find it incredible that you killed my past failures with Jesus' death on the cross. You put all my past sins in the grave of your crucified Son. You have raised me to a new life in Christ, united with him and his glorious future. Inspire me to find meaning, joy, and victory in Jesus. Strengthen me with your Spirit and conform me more perfectly to my Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18). Please empower me to live, fully trusting that all of my sin is dead, buried, and gone. Please give me the confidence that my new life is bound up with Jesus and his future. Jesus, thank you for this hope, and offer this praise in your name. Amen.

Today's Weight Watchers 123 Success Program Menu

 Today's menu:

coffee with protein shake

Salisbury Steak entree

yogurt

blueberries

cheese

Today's Bible Verse:

Break the arm of the wicked and evil man; call him to account for his wickedness that would not be found out.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

It is hard not to get discouraged when evil and wicked people get away with what is reprehensible — especially when they gloat about it. Christians on every continent have things that greatly trouble them about the evil perpetrated in their corner of the world. Corrupt power abuses those who belong to God's people and distorts the differences between good and evil. Let's join together, believers from around the world, and ask God to intervene in a clear, decisive way and bring these days of violence and wickedness to an end!

My Prayer...

Holy and righteous Father, please break the power of wickedness that reigns in our world and bring it to an end. Make it clear that the fall of evil's power is at the hand of the Lord Jesus. Lord Jesus, destroy every power that stands between God and us. Please, Lord, bring the glorious beginning of the eternal reign of your Kingdom. To your glory, Lord Jesus, and in your name, I pray. Amen.

Still Doing Old WW 123 Success Program for Weight Loss with Good Results and my Prim Pumpkin Family

I haven't been posting for a while.  We are getting ready for a wedding in the family, so haven't had much time lately to post my menus.

I am pretty close to goal now - maybe 4 or 5 #.  It has been slow, but I have enjoyed my food.  I will try to get back to posting my menus soon.

I have made a little prim pumpkin family for fall decor and the family is listing on Etsy:   https://www.etsy.com/shop/pinkcozycottage?ref=profile_header

Today's Bible Verse:

2 Corinthians 12:9—“My grace is all you need, for my power is the greatest when you are weak.” Psalm 73:26—"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Nehemiah 8:10—"Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."
